Way too long...

This way?!

So recently I have been feeling like I really needed an arrow to point out the important. It seems as if my life has been so packed lately that I am losing focus.
I love to be busy and I love to be needed in places. That makes me a really easy target for extra work, not in a bad way anyways. Usually it just keeps me busy and around lots of interesting people. It is what I do and who I am. I have always been busier than most of my friends and family so I am used to getting that look;) (meaning: how the heck do you do all that). And it is not something I would ever complain about, since I chose this way for me.
But apparently it took some other people to point out to me that sometimes it is ok not to do everything at once. I am grateful to have people like this in my life who just know what to say and how to calm me after so much has been going on. Unfortunately, there is still some work I have to catch up on and the new semester is about to start, so lets see how this is going to work. Anyways, I am lucky to know there is always someone in my life to point that arrow at the important when I am losing focus. Such as just a nice dinner with friends, going for photoshoot, collecting some of the first fall leaves...
I really wish you all people like this and moments like this to refocus! Love, Frieda

Stocking up

I love love love lipstick! Well you proably know this since then. And while I probably have enough lipsticks for uhm...a while I still cannot go shopping and not get one:) These lipsticks right here are from P2 and come in a lot of cool colors. I chose a coral and brown tone to fill in the gaps in my beauticase. I also really love the names they gave them. They are all named after famous places and streets. The ones I bought are called Copa Cabana and Wall Street. Well, I hope to complete a ad with the rest;)

Impressions of my day

Favorite asian food: at COA in Frankfurt/ beautifully installed Goethe qoutes in the lovely palm garden/ New make-up trend: coral eye shadow; this one is from essence: shrimp me up/ New favorite hair do/ A cute pavillion in the palm garden during a sight seeing trip with my friends

As it has been for a while not all of these picture were taken today, but rather over the last week. Anyways, they are a collection of my favorite things: meeting friends, going out, great food, literature, make-up, and fashion trends:)

Treasure hunt

While I don´t know how I feel about real hunting, there is one kind of hunting I am definitly not objectifying: Shopping!
And I guess I am not the only one;) Judging from the lines that build up in fron of H&M stores when new designer collaborations are to hit the stores. Usually all those hunters snatch the best pieces away in the first half hour. So I was really surprised when I found this AMAZING clutch a day later! I have been waiting for this collaboration for quite a while, but I unfortunately I was not able to go to the stores the day the pieces came. So I was more than happy that there were some things left for me to hunt down a day later.
PS: All the pieces came in amazing wrapping and with a great paper bag, I really liked that, so glamorous;)

Turning pages

Hey lovelies,
noticed something? Yep, I did a little work on m yblog today. What do you think?
Well, I decided that since this blog is to cherish the changes and possibilies of life it could need some changes itself. Also I thought that after I started blogging in spring (THE season of change) what better time would there be for a new look than fall (second season of change). So, I hope you all are enjoying the first falling leaves and a walk outside these days! Love, Frieda

Where is the party?

Essence nail polish: 43 Where is the party?

Well, that is a goog question! Where is he party? Definitly not at my place this weekend. Since I have been working like crazy over the last weeks to coplete all my work according to the dead lines I really could use some dancing and partying. But, unfortunately, this weekend was no better. More projects due and except meeting some friends for a study group there was not much time spent otherwise. Oh well, at least my nails were ready to party:) This nail polish has a really amazing color. It´s somewhere between purple and green, depending on the light, and it sparkles a lot.
I hope your weekend was a little more relaxing! Love, Frieda

Favorite Cali outfit

Shirt: Vintaga/ Pants: Forever 21/ Shoes: Nike/ Scarf: Kult/ Bag: Vintage/ Jewellery: Claire´s and Vintage

As Mark Twain once said: My coldest winter was a summer in San Francisco, and really California wasn´t the warmst place this summer, so this was my favorite outfit for the trip!

Breaking the spell- back to brown shoes

I think I have broken the spell of pink shoes now;)

I just got these awesome brown boots this summer, so for now they will live next to my clutches until it is cold enough to show them off!

French nails- a first

I think they turned out great for a first try:) As I said before I am trying to perfect my nail skills. This is my first attempt on french nails. Also, I love this little cute box. It is the amazing Glycerine Hand Therapy by Camille Beckman. My grandma gave it to me as a present this summer and I just love it!

Out and about

Shirt: Self-made tourist shirt/ Skirt: Vintage/ Belt: Vintage/ Shoes: my old dancing shoes/ Purse: C&A/ Earings: s.Oliver/ Watch: aeropostale/ Bracelets: Bijoux Brigitte and Vintage

I have shown this skirt before, but since it is fashion week time this week I decided to try out something new with this skirt and pair with some really different accesoires to create a totally different look. I really like how it is sparkly and glamorous while rock´n´roll chic at the same time.
If I would have worn it going out I would have taken the skirt a little shorter and would have paired it with some boots and tights, but since it was really warm today and we just did the shooting in the backyard I decided it would work this way and barefoot as well:)

Impressions of my day

So yummy: Pretzel with sugar pearls/ Steal of the week: Super cute sun glasses from H&M for about 5 bucks/ Reorganizing the space next to my make-up table so I can display some of my favorite girly things/ I love how my favorite jeans (almost) has my name, I found the tag in my drawer today and smiled/ New home for some of my earstuds: really cute wooden box

Inspirations- thinking inside the box

Have you read "Eat Pray Love"? It is one of my favorite books. I love it for many reasons, but there is one thing that I like especially. It is the "box". In the book Liz Gilbert talkes about how she keeps a box with journals and pictures and stuff about all the countries she wants to visit in her life to which her best friend replies that she used to have a box for baby things before she had her own child. I have one of those boxes, too. I keep my future plans in there as well. I put pieces of writing in there which I hope will be published some day. There are drawings of a future wedding gown and a list of all the designer heels I hope to own one day. Then there are ripped out pages from magazines and photos like the one above about how I wish to live one day. I have put notes in there, too. Little things from friends all over the world that needed a special place to be saved and that will continue to shape my future forever. Well, and just as Liz there are days that I dig out that box and go through all those scraps to I hope will find together as a whole some day. It is those days that you feel unsure and unknowing that you need something to hold on to, a dream and a hope and a little security. That´s what the box does. It shows me my dreams and hopes, not in an abstract, but in pictures and color.
So I would like to know, what do you keep in your box?
Love, Frieda

Lots of Love, Frieda

I am Woman!

Makes me want to grab my ladies and go karaoke singing! Well, maybe one of the next weekends;)

Just sharing

To start of this week of right: one of my favorite pics from this summer! Me at the Golden Gate Bridge. Hope you all are feeling great and kick of this week right:)

Tinkerbell- just love her

While in America I watched a lot of disney movies with my friends and siblings. Through all of it and during my stay in Disneyland I decided that Tinker was my favorite:) So when two of my besties and me planned a disney night I thought of it and just wanted to share these cute images with you guys. Who´s your favorite?

All these were taken at the San Francisco MoMa, I´m sorry for not including all the artists names

The Arts have always taken on the question of love. How does love happen to people, how can it be expressed? Looking at the paintings at the MoMa this summer I noticed that it still is a moving question, not just to artists, but to everyone. Including me. I have talked about love and friendship on here before and it is good to see how other creative people have dealt with their thoughts on this topic. Above I have compiled some of my favorite pieces in the exhibit concernig love and companionship. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did, even though the photos don´t do their beauty justice! And in the end we all hope to end up in a state diplayeed in the last painting: the mystical HAPPY END!
