100!

GUYS! This is crazy, this is my 100th post! Wow, can you believe it? Anyways, I just want to thank you all for supporting me and for reading along! Let´s hope a lot more posts are to come!

What kiss-day taught me

A couple days back facebook reminded me of a really cool celebration: the kiss-day. I think it is a nice thing to enhance romance in such a way in today´s world. We are often busy, fast-paced, and narrow-eyed. We run around focused on our tasks and forget some essentials over it. Those being: Love, Romance, True Happiness. This is often said easily, but forgotten just as fast. So, what can we do to work against our "running" habits? What ways do we have to make our path cross those of love and happiness. I wonder about this as I am one of those people to run around everyday, have a million dates and things to remember and phone book-thick calendar. I am one of those people to remember everything except to just let go.

So, when I stumbled across the first picture in prepararion of this post I thought of something I have written about before: small things! It probably really is all those small things that make up the whole: LOVE. But, and here comes the problem to this wonderful solution: how can we make sure to give all those things the meaning they deserve? I have not found a perfect way for doing so, but I am trying my best everyday: to be open-eyed and open-minded! If we take the courage and the time to walk around a little different in our lives it might actually change a lot! For me the first steps on the way to doing so are:
first of all: this blog, it makes me a lot more alert to beauty in everyday life,
second: tune it down sometimes, I have noticed that when I sit down for lunch it can be very nice to turn off my iPod and just enjoy the sounds surrounding me
third: even if it sounds weird, I like to walk, yep, especially on days that my brain is clouded from studying it is nice to go outside and enjoy some nothing;) just air, fields, and walking
Well, I bet and I hope there are a lot more ways to enjoy the small things that make up such big things as Love! What are your ways to do so? I would love to hear about them!

Nailed

Just recently I shared a video from Cartier with you guys, here is another thing I like about their recent moves: the Nail ring! This ring, desigend by Aldo Cipullo, is called "Juste un Clou" (Just a Nail) as just relaunched and is now the hottest piece of jewellery around (you find it on here). It has been hyped by every high-fashion magazine out there and now it is my turn to praise this wonderful ring! I LOVE it, I think it is really cute and this without being too much! But what makes me like it even more is that I already own a similar ring! I know it is not as filigrane and it is not gold, but it is still very close to my heart. I as presented with this ring by a really dear friend of mine and she just told me the cutest story to accompany it.
At the times of the pilgrims crossing the great Plains there was a young lady who had two admirers, to decide which one should become her husband she told them that the one of them who  would first get her a diamond engagement ring should be it. Now there wasn´t any chance to get a real diamind out in the Plains, but one of them got a nail from a close by railroad, as these were called "Road diamonds". He got it shaped into a ring and proposed to her. Stunned by his thoughtfulness and devotion she agreed to marry him.
I think this is one of the cutest stories! I love how I as introduced to this ring by one of my besties long before the relaunch! And what I love most that this is a true sign of LOVE!

To all the mothers out there

Well just repeating what has been said over and over again: Our moms are truly special and awesome! Telling them we love them just never gets old, does it?:)

Signs of love

Walking around town i came across this tree. I stopped to think about the significance of this mark. Was is just some letters in some tree? Or was there more to it? There was a story behind it for sure, maybe a young couple had walked past and decided to make a constant mark of their love. Maybe it had been a prove of reality to them, maybe it was completely different, but I could not help but wonder. Isn´t that what we all want? A little prove that it is real, no matter what. We need prove of our grades in college on a report card, we need prove of our booked flight on a ticket, we need  prove of correct spelling by looking it up in the dictionary- we need things to be written down black and white, or sometimes on a tree. The same seems to apply to love- we need prove it is real. Since love is such a abstract concept to grasp we might need it even more than with other things. So standing in front of this tree I wondered about the symbolism of this heart in the bark, a simple, though significant sign of love. in the end it might have been more than just a sign, for two people it might have been a prove.
