Treasure hunt

While I don´t know how I feel about real hunting, there is one kind of hunting I am definitly not objectifying: Shopping!
And I guess I am not the only one;) Judging from the lines that build up in fron of H&M stores when new designer collaborations are to hit the stores. Usually all those hunters snatch the best pieces away in the first half hour. So I was really surprised when I found this AMAZING clutch a day later! I have been waiting for this collaboration for quite a while, but I unfortunately I was not able to go to the stores the day the pieces came. So I was more than happy that there were some things left for me to hunt down a day later.
PS: All the pieces came in amazing wrapping and with a great paper bag, I really liked that, so glamorous;)

Out and about

Shirt: Self-made tourist shirt/ Skirt: Vintage/ Belt: Vintage/ Shoes: my old dancing shoes/ Purse: C&A/ Earings: s.Oliver/ Watch: aeropostale/ Bracelets: Bijoux Brigitte and Vintage

I have shown this skirt before, but since it is fashion week time this week I decided to try out something new with this skirt and pair with some really different accesoires to create a totally different look. I really like how it is sparkly and glamorous while rock´n´roll chic at the same time.
If I would have worn it going out I would have taken the skirt a little shorter and would have paired it with some boots and tights, but since it was really warm today and we just did the shooting in the backyard I decided it would work this way and barefoot as well:)

Holiday wear- How to be a stylish tourist

First Outfit: Shirt: Target/ Shorts: Please/ Cardigan: Cos/ Sandals: Gap/ Bag: Vintage/ UK-scarf: Kult/Jewellery: Vintage
Second Outfit: Shirt: H&M/ Pants: Zara/ Bag&Cardigan: see above/ Shoes: I don´t know, they are old:)/ Neclace: Promod

I love to travel! You probably know by now. But one thing I don´t like is to stand out as a tourist, in looks or in language. That is one of the reasons I love to learn foreign languages and also reason for a very detailed packing:) As you see above I usually take basics (Jacket, Bag) in plain colors and match them with neon brights and filigrane jewellery. That way I have lots of options and little to pack:)
What are your tips for light and stylish travelling?

Refound truth

Bracelet: Claire´s

Well, you know how you have some sort of  "traditions"? You probably have tons af them to yourself, at least I do. One of mine is that I cannot pack for travelling without going through all my jewellery. Therefore I always empty my entire dresser, get out all the little satin bags and wooden boxes that hold my things empty them out on the floor and dig myself through all-time favorites, tropical exots, and forgotten treasures. I do not know why I do it, nor what I need it for, but I know that I do it every time. And when I say every time, I mean every time. Wether I am going on a two-day weekend trip or a year-long travel to study abroad. Of course the amout of time spent in preparations for those travels (somewhat in proportion to the actual travel), but I wouldn´t give up my ritual of jewellery choosing for anything. It somehow calms me down and makes me aware of the upcoming departure. I know this may sound a little silly, but it is just something I do. And at times this little ritual brings up pretty little treasures like this bracelet. I got it a long time ago at Claire´s and I still love the little message on it. It actually turns out to be one of the little things I was talking about earlier this week. It is really nice to have a little reminder of love dangeling from your wrist at times. So, in the end I can say that however dull all those little things we do might seem. However insicnificant we might think they are at times, they help. They help us to be eased up, help us to be more us. And then maybe they help us find something else that seems little, but can be significant at times.

Impressions of my day

Cute idea: Using an old limonade bottle for flowers/ Working at my "office" (this being my fav coffee shop)/ Loving the fresh cut strawberries in my evening treat/ An old church I took some pictures at that week/ Glasses and my pures, getting ready to go out
Acurately it should read Impressions of my days, since this is a reflection on the last week or so. I am very very sorry for not keeping you posted over the last couple days, but I was gone for teaching a seminar. It was at a small village in a youth hostel and it was held for young students going to study abroad! It was lots of fun!!! But, there was no Wlan, so I could not post anything. Well, if you had just half as much fun as I did your weekend was probably amazing;) Love, Frieda

Nailed

Just recently I shared a video from Cartier with you guys, here is another thing I like about their recent moves: the Nail ring! This ring, desigend by Aldo Cipullo, is called "Juste un Clou" (Just a Nail) as just relaunched and is now the hottest piece of jewellery around (you find it on here). It has been hyped by every high-fashion magazine out there and now it is my turn to praise this wonderful ring! I LOVE it, I think it is really cute and this without being too much! But what makes me like it even more is that I already own a similar ring! I know it is not as filigrane and it is not gold, but it is still very close to my heart. I as presented with this ring by a really dear friend of mine and she just told me the cutest story to accompany it.
At the times of the pilgrims crossing the great Plains there was a young lady who had two admirers, to decide which one should become her husband she told them that the one of them who  would first get her a diamond engagement ring should be it. Now there wasn´t any chance to get a real diamind out in the Plains, but one of them got a nail from a close by railroad, as these were called "Road diamonds". He got it shaped into a ring and proposed to her. Stunned by his thoughtfulness and devotion she agreed to marry him.
I think this is one of the cutest stories! I love how I as introduced to this ring by one of my besties long before the relaunch! And what I love most that this is a true sign of LOVE!

Messy meets sophisticated

Shirt: Zara/ Jeggings: Orsay/ Flats: Gant/ Bag: Vintage/ Neclace: Promod/ Glasses: Old Navy

These pictures were taken while going grocery shopping yesterday. The weather was fantastic, but the light was not ideal for picture taking (look at pic. 1 and 2...my face), so I got out some glasses. Even though it has been sunny for a while I am still very white. I hope that will change over the next days as I have already picked out some swim wear in pretty light colors ( and you do not want to pair light swim wear and super pale skin)! I really like the shirt I am wearing in the picture, as the shirt becomes an it-piece this season, its appearence changed a little. Now, shirts are made out of delicate fabrics, nnew shapes and with cute prints. Also shirts pair up with big statement jewellery and girly shoes, rather than with the usual sneaker. All in all I did not want to overdo it, so I just put my hair just as it came after air drying in the morning: a messy pony tail.
